Terms & Conditions


To help you get the best out of the little yorkshire dance academy and to understand our responsibilities to you and your responsibilities to us, please read the following terms, conditions and policies. The language used should make these terms, conditions and policies as clear as possible. The following policies exist to safeguard the wellbeing of our pupils and families and to ensure that the little yorkshire dance academy continues to be associated with high quality teaching and the enjoyment of dance. The little yorkshire dance academy reserves the right to refuse entry to classes if these rules are not complied with. The studio will review and amend its policies on a regular basis and advises parents and pupils to read this document thoroughly to ensure a clear understanding is gained. Terms and Conditions.

1. Payments and Fees

  • 1.1 In order for a place to be kept open for your child at the little yorkshire dance academy, payment is required monthly by setting up a subscription via the system we use, class 4 kids. We are no longer able to accept any other form of payment for fees. 1.2 We reserve the right to make changes to these amounts and/or collection date if necessary. In this case, you will be given notice via email prior to collection. 1.3 Fees are reviewed annually. 1.4 Payment will be taken from the account you specify on the 1st of every month. Failure to make payments on time may result losing your place in chosen class(es). If you are having trouble paying, please speak to a member of our team and we will do our best to help. 1.5 Prices are based on 38 weeks-worth of classes and are on a pro rata basis, meaning that the total cost of classes is split over 12 payments. Monthly fees are inclusive of VAT. 1.6 Any classes taken after the trial class and before the 1st subscription payment, are added on as a covering payment at cost per class of £8.50 to the 1st subscription payment. 1.7 Fees including membership fees are non-refundable. In exceptional circumstances, subscriptions can be frozen until further notice. This is at the discretion of the little yorkshire dance academy. Please request in writing or by email. 1.8 Every pupil is welcome to a trial. After the a trial is completed, you will receive an email from Class 4 Kids to sign up to classes if you wish to continue. 1.9 In order to enrol at the little yorkshire dance academy, there is an annual membership fee of £20 per child. This helps towards the costs of administration, licensing and insurances to name a few. 1.10 No membership fee is charged on events, holiday camps or one off class specials. 1.11 Yearly membership renewal fees will be invoiced during the month in which it becomes due. 1.12 Due to most of our classes being at full capacity, we cannot offer sibling discount on our weekly classes. We do offer sibling discounts on our events and camps.

2. Cancellation

2.1 Should you wish to cancel your child's class subscription, we require thirty days written notice via email along with one final full fee payment. 2.2 Any classes that fall under 3 students in total will be subject to being cancelled. 2.3 All unattended lessons are still payable. Substitute lessons can be arranged where applicable. 2.4 If a class has to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances: eg teacher illness or hall out of use, you will be refunded for that class or offered a make up class. 2.5 In the event of a global pandemic and national lockdown, all classes will be automatically transferred to Zoom. We will be unable to give refunds for missed classes due to a lockdown.


Policies 

Child Protection and Health and Safety Policy

By agreeing to our terms and conditions you agree and give your consent to the Child Protection and Health and Safety points outlined below. You are giving permission for yourself or the child, or the person you are responsible for named on this form to take part in the normal activities of The Little Yorkshire Dance Academy and agree that your child is fit and well at the time of submitting this form. Whilst involved, yourself/your child will be under the control and care of the staff and assistants who will take every reasonable care of the pupils, however they cannot be held responsible for any loss of personal property, damage to belongings or injury suffered during or because of the activity. Teaching dance is a physical activity and a teacher will sometimes need to make physical contact with a student to show an idea or correct the student's position. On occasion it may be necessary for The Little Yorkshire Dance Academy to obtain medical treatment for a student. By agreeing to this policy, you grant permission to The Little Yorkshire Dance Academy to perform and obtain medical care by a member of staff, a doctor, Hospital or emergency service organisation for their named child at such times as deemed necessary for physical health purposes. Any medical conditions must be disclosed upon registration. It is the Parents/guardians responsibility to inform the little yorkshire dance academy of any changes to the child's contact or medical details and to ensure contact and medical details are kept up to date. It is imperative that we are always fully aware of any health implications, for your child’s safety and your own peace of mind. For Health and Safety of the child and the teacher, hair must be tied back and off the face in all classes and minimum required uniform worn. The Little Yorkshire Dance Academy reserves the right to ask any Student/ Parent/ Carer who behaves inappropriately to leave the school. Any person teaching/assisting for The Little Yorkshire Dance Academy will be in receipt of a DBS disclosure.


Media Consent Policy

The Little Yorkshire Dance Academy may wish to take photographs and videos as memoirs during classes, performances and other relevant events. By giving your consent, you are agreeing for photographs and videos to be used for publicity/marketing purposes, social media pages and local press where appropriate. Your child's full name will never be used. You are also agreeing that photos/videos taken by parents/guardians are for viewing by family members only and do not end up on any social media or the internet unless you have parental consent from all parents of students in the photograph/video. We also ask that you are discreet when taking photos/videos and avoid disruption to the students. If you wish to withhold your consent at any time, this must be made known to the little yorkshire dance academy in writing and can be done so via email. 


Privacy Policy

In order for The Little Yorkshire Dance Academy to keep in touch and be able to send you emails with information relevant to your child’s classes and participation within the school we require your consent. We will use email to keep you up to date with the latest school information including term dates, school news, fees, classes we offer, examination information and other appropriate information relevant to your child’s classes. Rest assured that we have never, and will never, pass your details on to third parties other than those clearly outlined in our Privacy Policy with your consent (ie.ISTD for examinations), who are also GDPR compliant. We will only contact you in direct relation to your classes and participation in the school. We only use the information supplied on your Enrolment form for teaching purposes and your personal data is stored securely on password protected devices. You can opt out of receiving emails or other communication from us at any time by email. We will then remove you from our mailing list.


Copies of all the above policies as well as the little yorkshire dance academys privacy policy and child protection and safeguarding policy are available on request by email. By agreeing to our terms and conditions you agree to the above and for the personal data you have provided to be used and stored by The Little Yorkshire Dance Academy in accordance with GDPR.
